About S.U.N.
| The trouble with Ultimate, an outsider might say, is that it is all-consuming, all-encompassing, all-embracing. It enters your mind and takes over your soul. Sounds extreme, huh? Well for those who haven't played, it is quite true. That's what we have come to discover, anyway. After graduating from Truman State University, some as early as 1999, and scattering across the country, ultimate became a gravitational force and pulled us back to our roots -- spirit, competition, and teamwork. After a few conversations, some planning and a little dedication, we became an official non-profit corporation, and our life as just Ultimate players had ended. We were now Promoters. Organizers. Tournament Directors. Anything and everything that has to do with spreading the love for the game of Ultimate. |

This website is designed to be a tool with many purposes. A tool for players to learn more about the game they love. A tool for coaches to become better--not just at teaching and understanding the game, but better at communication, leadership, and producing results. Finally, a tool for S.U.N. members to organize themselves in a manner that helps in the promotion of Ultimate in the midwest. While one of the benchmarks of Ultimate is its 'all-inclusive' nature, giving yourself to an Ultimate team is a true and special experience. The members of S.U.N. remember that experience well, and have created this community to help others live the same adventure. You will hear us say it often, Ultimate is a beautiful game. It is our sincere hope to spread this Ultimate, the game we love, to as many people as we can, as well as help our teammates--old and new--become better Ultimate players. |
